Welcome to your October Newsletter. I hope you, your families and loved ones are safe, well and enjoying our Spring weather. There is a lot of action this month, personally and in the land of Papercrafting! And it’s Daylight Saving, giving us even more sunshine hours.
Our garden is greening-up and providing a nurturing habitat for our critters and us. Melbourne Metro & Victorian COVID numbers are slowly reducing, our kids will start to go back to school, we have family birthdays to celebrate and the tantalising hope of picnics in the park.

Where are we, generally, personally and with SU?
The gardens and surrounding bushland are indeed my inspiration. Our friends have shared their favourite places with us and many are on our doorstep. We’ve discovered local wetlands, river flats, towering river gums and even a mini farm.
I know with our extra time at home, increased maintenance and more rainfall, the garden has romped on. I’m sure that we’ve seen more bird activity; complete with Rosellas feasting on the Wisteria blooming directly in front of my craft-room window!
We’ve all been having fun crafting, making samples, sending cards to friends, catching up ‘virtually’, and generally being creative. As I’ve recently celebrated a birthday, it has also been an absolute delight to receive many messages, hand-crafted and other cards from friends and family.

It’s been a joy to make and send cards. This has been a lovely time to create and spread some joy. You might like to review the SAMPLES section below for some simple card maps and layouts for “hello” & “thinking of you” cards. These can be easily adapted to a variety of greetings. Using your “precious” pieces of DSP
Often, we have pieces of DSP, that are not large enough for a card front or even a strip the length of a card front, but they are too precious to waste!
Please let me share some designs, my class ladies requested, to make and send cards to friends and loved ones. The designs are readily adaptable to smallish amounts of DSP and various greeting types.
Here are some samples using coordinating pieces of DSP, as you’ll often have bits and pieces left from the same DSP pack where the designs and colours will work well together. (All of these samples feature DSP from ‘Flowers for Every Season” DSP pack Annual Catalogue.) Here is the link to this DSP.
